Wedding outfit

In a couple of weeks one of my best friends is getting married at the National Gallery of Australia. Such a special occasion requires a special new outfit, so I'm attempting to make this pink, tea-length, tutu skirt to wear with a sequinned top I bought in New York back in October. But have I mentioned that I don't really know how to sew?

I painted this in my Sketchbook Project book, as my very last entry!

Orange art

This was painted in my Sketchbook Project book, using watercolor.

We visited the National Portrait Gallery recently, and they have this sculpture near the entrance. It feels like I'm about to be consumed by a big orange blob of chewing gum or some other sort of goo. :)

Here's the original photo.

National Geographic Illustrator

I really love time-lapse videos, and this one from the National Geographic is wonderful. Plus it doesn't' hurt that Jonathan Alderfer's illustrations are fantastic!

Sumer stripes

Here's the next entry in my Sketchbook Project book. I love this maxi dress, it's flattering, super comfy and it swishes when I walk. As usual, this illustration was made using watercolor and ink in under 10 minutes (not including drying time).

Casual and comfy

Here's the next entry in my Sketchbook Project book, using watercolor and ink. I only have a few more pages left in my sketchbook (I rebound it with very thick watercolor paper)!

Raspberry and Navy

I've been a bit remiss in posting up my Sketchbook Project entries lately. I'm still trying to paint what I wear each day, and complete the entry in 10 minutes or less (excluding drying time).

If you've been doing the Sketchbook Project too, leave a link to your blog / flickr stream etc on my Sketchbook Project page. I'd love to see what you've been doing!

Christmas Illustration Rally

The December Illustration Rally naturally has a Christmas theme, and here's my little entry.

Living in Australia I'm really missing snow at Christmas. It just isn't the same having hot weather, especially not when I still plan on cooking a turkey and all the trimmings tomorrow!

Merry Christmas!

2012 is almost here!

I've been meaning to put together a calendar for a while now. In fact it has been on my to-do list for two or three months! I finally finished it over the weekend, and it's now available for purchase in the Illustrateur Etsy store.

Each month has a fashion illustration originally created in watercolor and ink. Here's a little preview of what's inside:

Christmas bling

Everywhere I look the world seems all 'blinged up' for Christmas. Here are few of my favorite sparkly pieces, from November Elle, using watercolor, ink, and Photoshop (for a little extra sparkle).

Christmas competition winner!

Thank you to everyone who sent in their favorite image or outfit for my Christmas illustration competition. I received some really gorgeous entries and it was very difficult to pick one!

In the end I chose an outfit by Jess at Epheriell Designs. Here is the final illustration!
I've packaged it up and I'll be sending it off to Jess today. Merry Christmas!
